OCTOBER IS THE MONTH OF THE ROSARY …there will be a rosary said prior to each Sunday Mass     

during October. If you would like to host a rosary in your home, there is a book in the Cathedral foyer – claim your date…everyone is invited to join in.

Mass on the Feast will be celebrated at 7am and 12.30pm at the Cathedral (12.30pm Mass - Whole School Mass for St Mary’s Cathedral School) and 9.15am at De la Salle Chapel…the mass at the De la Salle Chapel has been designated as a place of Pilgrimage & Indulgence for the Year of Consecrated Life…De la Salle Brothers have been invited to return for this occasion….a Plenary Indulgence is available for the faithful who attend Mass in the Chapel on this day, receive Holy Communion and pray (Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be…for the Pope’s intentions) and go to Confession on or near the Feast Day.

BISHOP HAS APPOINTED: ADIG General Manager Mrs Helen Dawson has taken on the role of General Manager at the ADIG from 1st September, 2015. Helen has been working with ADIG as Assistant Manager since 2014 and has successfully transitioned to the position of General Manager. Helen’s appointment will allow Jennifer Harman to devote her time to other functions as Executive Director of the Diocesan Chancery. She will still be available to mentor and support Helen as well as being an ex officio member of the ADIG Board.

ADIG DISTRIBUTION …..The total ADIG Distribution to the Diocese of Armidale this year was $1,400,000, an increase of $100,000 from last year. The Distribution has been determined by the Bishop as follows: Diocese $850,000 up $30,000 Parishes $520,000 up $70,000 Priests’ Retirement Foundation $30,000 unchanged. In addition a special distribution was made of $1,000,000 to assist with the Cathedral Precinct. The Cathedral Parish of Armidale has received $43,179.00. We are grateful for this as it helps enormously with Insurance and coverage for Public Risk.

Chesterton Conference: A Third Spring Chesterton and the Convert Cardinals, Newman and Manning….9am-5pm at Campion College, 8-14 Austin Woodbury Place, Old Toongabbie. The conference will explore the connections between Chesterton, Newman and Manning, and highlight the ways in which these figures gave new life to the intellectual and social traditions of the Church. Speakers will include Campion President Paul Morrissey, Stephen McInerney, Garrick Small, and Karl Schmude. CATHOLIC WOMEN CONNECTING…our next meeting for CWC will be held on Saturday 26th of September, at 5pm in the St Ann's hall (St Marys primary school hall) entry off Jessie street. We will have a prayer time, faith sharing of our spiritual journey as women and mothers and the place of God in our lives. All women welcome !

FIRST RECONCILIATION 2015 …PARENTS ENROLMENT NIGHT for children making their First Reconciliation (confession) is THURSDAY, 8TH OCTOBER, 6.30PM in the Cathedral. First Reconciliation is Wednesday 18TH NOVEMBER at 6PM in the Cathedral … It is essential that parents attend this meeting to ENROL their son/daughter for this Sacrament. If we do not have record of your child’s Baptism either at the Parish Office or at St Mary’s Primary School, you will need to supply one prior to or at the Parent night. WYD 2016 KRAKOW POLAND 18TH JULY TO 5TH AUGUST Expressions of interest are being taken, at least 20 young people from the Diocese are being sought. Must be signed by Parish Priest. The cost will be approx. $6000. The Diocese will provide $1000 sponsorship to the first 10 to register and pay $500 deposit with the Parish contributing $1000.
