1 Jn 3: 16

By this we came to know the love of God: that Christ laid down his life for us; so we ought to lay down our lives for one another.

God and Father of us all, in Jesus, your Son and our Saviour, you have made us your sons and daughters in the family of the Church. May your grace and love help our families in every part of the world by united to one another in fidelity to the Gospel. May the example of your Holy Family, with the aid of your Holy Spirit, guide all families, especially those most troubled, to be homes of communion and prayer and to always seek your truth and live in your love. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Responding to the needs of Refugees… The Australian Catholic Bishop Conference is telling us to hold off from taking action until more information is available from the Government. The Government is indicating they want to put clusters of refugees in areas where they can be totally supported as they will have complex needs and will need constant ongoing professional support. The Chancery will be sending out a survey to parishes and schools asking what support their communities can provide. This will be fed back into the ACBC data base for review. The Diocese is working with Catholic and Government agencies to determine what support we can offer to the Syrian refugees. More information will be available in coming weeks.
