Icebreaker: What is your favorite farm animal? Why?
Content & Context 1. Read Psalm 23 aloud. 2. What do you know about shepherds? What is their job? Does it seem like a good job? Why or why not? 3. Who wrote Psalm 23? What did he know about being a shepherd? See 1 Samuel 16-17. 4. Why is the Lord referred to as a shepherd? 5. In verse 1, what advantage is given for the Lord being his shepherd? Connect 6. Would you describe the Lord as your shepherd? Why or why not? 7. When you think of Jesus, do you think of him as one who gives you all you need? 8. Does Psalm 23:1 really mean that you don’t NEED anything? What are the physical, emotional, or spiritual implications of the verse? 9. Give a specific example of how Jesus has provided for your needs. 10. Give a specific example of how Jesus’ timing has proven better than your own. Prayer Lord Jesus, you are the Lamb at the center of the throne. You are our shepherd; who will lead us to springs of living water.
