LASA (Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association) is going to be hosting the 2010 National Junior Disability Championships (www.njdc2010.org) from July 17 to July 24, 2010. NJDC has grown from a small meet in 1984 to an amazing, major event - involving over 300 young athletes aged 7 to 21 from around the country (and several foreign countries) who have a variety of physical or visual impairments. This is the first time this prestigious event will be held in Illinois... and help is needed to make these games the best ever! Dozens of volunteers are needed to pitch in with the logistics and planning of this major event. A wonderful and dedicated planning team is already in place but some key volunteer positions remain unfilled. There are ways you can help: You can volunteer to help in the NJDC planning committee, or offer to donate in-kind goods and services. Please contact Cindy Housner, Executive Director for GLASA (
[email protected]) about the ways you might wish to help. This should prove to be an event that will be unforgettable!.
