French III: Sports and Health Overview: Communicating in another language is conducive to understanding and appreciating cultures other than one's own. Making linguistic and cultural connections between one's native language and the target language deepens one's understanding of both. This unit will focus on developing conversational language for the purpose of sharing and obtaining information about themselves through an exploration of identity and culture. Students will explore sports and lifestyles and their impacts on everyday lives. They will compare and contrast different ways sports are viewed in different cultures and countries. The major project performance for the unit will be the students' contribution to the society with an invention to improve the overall well-being. This unit supports the district's outcomes of cultural awareness and diversity.
