[ DSH ] Control Guide Line For Heat pump efficiency improvement, Customer can use the advantage of High pressure shell compressor by DSH control. DSH as shown in P-h diagram of Figure 1 can be calculated from Tsat of Pd and Td High pressure shell compressor stores heat inside the compressor. The storage heat can be transfered to a condensing unit by an increase of refrigerant flow to maximize compressor efficiency. Refrigerant flow increasing can be controlled by DSH control concept. As shown in Figure 2

From SCI experiment, DSH control can improvement heat pump efficiency about 5-10%.(As shown in Figure3) Improvement percentage is depend on running condition, refrigerant quatity and heat exchanger size. From SCI experiment, the optimum DSH value has linear relation with Compression ratio value (Pd/Ps) as shown in Figure 4. SCI compressor can be used under a liquid back condition. It will not affected to the compressor reliability. Our compressor limit is - For Scroll compressor : DSH > 10K - For Rotary compressor : DSH > 20K This control can not use with Low pressure shell compressor as liquid refrigerant will mix into compressor oil, reduce lubrication thus affected to the compressor reliability.
