Epiphany Celebra on We will celebrate Epiphany during KfC on Wednesday, January 7. On this day we learn about the Wise Men who came to visit baby Jesus. We will hear the story, The Legend of Old Befana, meet the wise men who are on their way to Bethlehem, and enjoy King’s cake. All families and friends are invited to meet in the KfC room for fun and refreshments at 6:30.
The children voted to raise money to purchase a donkey and a cart from Episcopal Relief and Development. If they would like any offerings to go towards the donkey and cart, please help them mark their envelopes to reflect this. If you have any questions about this service project, please do not hesitate to ask. You may call Mary at 771-0102 or e-mail, [email protected].
KfC In addition to January 7, we will also meet on Wednesday, January 14 and February 4 at 6:00 pm. for dinner. Class will be held from 6:30-7:30. February 18 is Ash Wednesday. We will not have a regular KfC meeting on that evening, but will have a special service for the children (see next page for details)
Thank you to all who brought gifts for the Bissett Christmas family baskets. We were able to provide a very special Christmas to three families who were in need of our help. Thanks to those who wrapped and delivered gifts. It is certainly a gift and a blessing to be able to continue to make Christ known to others.
Secret Pal Angels Secret Pal Angels have been flying around Christ Church for the past eight years. It is a wonderful way for children and adults or youth members in our congregation to become friends and learn about each other by leaving notes or cards in the Secret Pal (a.k.a. Advent) mailbox, which was created by the youth and is located in the Parish Hall. Children love to receive mail and to know that someone is thinking about them during the week. Whether they receive cards at their home or in the mailbox at church, they love to find envelopes with their names on the front and a short message inside. The sign up sheet is on the bulletin board in the west hallway. Please consider taking a little time to get to know one of the great kids at Christ Church!! We will begin on Sunday, January 25. You will be sent a letter with information about your pal. The big reveal will be Sunday, February 15. More information will be listed in the upcoming bulletins. Ash Wednesday Service for Children Ash Wednesday is February 18. We will have a special service for children at 5:00 p.m. We will meet in the KfC room for a short lesson and then go into the chapel for the service. If you have any questions, please contact Mary at 771-0102 or [email protected].
Lent Soup Suppers and Classes Lenten soup suppers and classes will begin on February 25. Classes will meet February 25, March 4, 11, 18, and 25. There will be classes for adults and children. Children will meet upstairs in the KfC room from 6:30-7:30 after supper.
