Israel continued to reject God’s rule which led to the decline and defeat of Israel.
David modeled God’s rule through wholehearted obedience. (Acts 13:21-22; 2 Samuel 11 – 12)
Solomon was very wise and built the temple yet he opened the door to idolatry. (1 Kings 3:3-9; 1 Kings 8:41-43; 11:4-6)
Israel declines into a splintered nation and eventually is defeated by its enemies. (1 Kings 16:29–19:18; 2 Kings 25:1-20)
