Date: June 14, 2015 Message: Now You See Me, Part 2 Scripture: John 5:39-40 Speaker: Dave Woods
Jesus indicates that the Scriptures have both a divine origin and a practical purpose. We learn their divine origin from Christ’s testimony to them. We learn their practical purpose from their testimony to Christ. Today’s message focuses on what the O.T. Scriptures revealed about the Hero of the Bible! Here’s the points Jesus makes about searching the Scriptures and finding Him! In reading and studying the Bible, be careful that you do not miss Who the Hero of the Story is! Genesis 3:15
Jesus is the Hero starting with the O.T. Scriptures! Isaiah 53; Micah 5:2; Isaiah 11:1-5 The Hero in God’s Story is the one who is getting beat up and suffers and dies! Isaiah 50:6; Matthew 20:18-19 The fact is that Jesus’ sufferings were a proof of him being the Messiah! The sufferings of Christ were really God’s appointed way for Jesus to receive the glory that was waiting for Him in Heaven! But the Hero of the Story is the same martyred man alive and standing at the right hand of God as Lord and King!
Acts 7:56
