Best Seller Coaching: Module 7 – Lesson 4 – Facebook

Facebook is at the top of the social media chain so it’s important to have a good presence on it. Your readers will expect you to have an account on Facebook so by creating one and maintaining it well you’ll only add to your credibility.

When setting up your Author’s Facebook profile you’ll want some things in order. A proper email address made specifically for that author Your author’s name, of course Alternatively, if you already have a Facebook profile of your own you can simply set up a “fan page” for your authors and manage them through your personal profile. Your privacy will be kept intact and no one will be able to track down your personal account from these pages if you don’t want them to When setting up a page for your author it’s also an option to do this for just a single book. The process is essentially the same, you’ll just pick the option to create a page for a book instead of an author When it is time to upload a profile picture and you’re creating a page for an author which happens to be a pen-name, you can use PhotoDune The 2nd image you’ll need when creating a Facebook fan page is called a “banner image” and this is the larger image you often see at the top of every facebook page. You can design these yourself or hire someone to do one for you. Fiverr is also an inexpensive option to get one made My eCover Maker is a nice tool to help with making book-cover graphics www.servenomaster.com

Once your Facebook page is all set up it’s time to begin using it. Keep in mind there is a distinction between your profile and your “page”. If you happen to create Facebook fan pages using your personal profile then you’ll always want to be sure you do things like post content, like posts, share posts, all that good stuff… do these activities as your page. Facebook gives you the option to do all these things as yourself or as any of the pages you own and manage.

If you’re unsure what to post about or what to do then simply go find another author who’s in your same subject and see what sort of things they post about and what they’re doing. Take their activity as inspiration for your own posts and activities. It also helps to interact with these other author’s pages sometimes in a positive way. Doing this might get a few extra views back to your own pages from people who look at their page.
