Snohomish Boys Lacrosse Location: Todo Mexican January 3rd 2017
Attendees present: Molly Perry, Kevin Henderson, Kier Keith, Amanda Cote, Molly Perry, Celeste Hanson, Chad Harris, Olga Flores, Chris Ames, Susan Scott. Attendees not present: Kari Taylor, Jacob Brown Note Takers: Starla Roseen, Keir Keith. 7:33 Bush family request to the board to release Nick Bush for the 2017 season. The Board will approve request with the condition of Bush family showing a request of variance to Glacier Peak. This will be provided by the Bush family to Amanda, Chris, or Kari. This is approved for 2017 season only. Chris Motioned to approve, Chad second board approved.
1/24/17 - Mandatory League Coaches Meeting for the NSYL. Burlington Fire Department from 7-8:30 pm. The head coach for each team (or their designate) needs to attend this meeting. The Program Packet is also due to League on 1/24. The board agreed to request final payment for all players by Feb 1st. If not paid in full, the Player Agent (Chad Harris) will reach out to the parents to request payment. Ideally we have all players paid in full before stepping on the field. Scheduling Update - Kier reported that field scheduling will be very tight but she will do all she can to accommodate each team and coach's needs. She would like each coach to send her their ideal practice days/times. Todd Niquest will paint lines on CMS again this year. Youth Parent Meeting on Sat, Jan 28th @ 0900 at CMS. First Youth Lacrosse practice will start on Feb 6th. Coaches may want Saturday practices in Feb. Youth Jamboree Feb 25th. High School Practices start on Feb 27th. Athletic Director - Amanda 1/17 - NSYL meeting - There will be new rules for 5/6 age group to review. She will ask about 5/6 and 7/8 details proposed for end of the season play offs. Youth Coaches - there have been 3 Head Coach Applications Submitted.
Coach Chad Taylor for 7/8. Chris moved to approve, Molly second, 100% of board approved. Coach Brett Wynne for 7/8. Chris moved to approve, Amanda second. 100% of board approved. Coach Mark Perry for 5/6. Chris moved to approve, Amanda second. 100% of board approved, Molly abstained from vote. Amanda will reach out to each coach to let them know they were approved by the board. They are responsible for selecting their Assistant Coaches. Assistant Coaches all need to submit application/registration and have a background check. Board does not need to vote to approve Assistant Coaches. Jim Milham was suggested as a possible 2nd Head Coach for 5/6 - Chris will contact to find out his interest and availability. Next SnoLax Board meeting will be on Tue, Feb 7th at Todo Mexico from 6:30-8:30 pm. 8:20 - meeting adjourned.
