MERIDIAN COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #15 BOARD OF EDUCATION SPECIAL MEETING August 8, 2016 The Meridian Community Unit School District Board of Education held a special meeting on Monday, August 8, 2016 in the District Office of the Meridian High School. Vice President Tony Etherton called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. The following Members were present: Tony Etherton, Marie JaggerTaylor, Angela Dawson, Adam Herbert, Monte Hogan, and Matt Roush. Dan Brue and Eric Hurelbrink, were also present. Role was taken and as there was no correspondence or comments from visitors Member Jagger Taylor, seconded by Member Roush motioned to move to an executive session for the purpose of discussing matters pertaining to the employment, appointment, evaluation or dismissal of specific employees or officers, purchase or sale of property, pending legal matters, student discipline, and negotiations. (per 5 ILCS120/2(c)(1)) The Motion carried 6-0 and at 6:01 the BOE, Superintendent Dan Brue and Principal Eric Hurelbrink moved to Executive Session. At 6:20 the BOE returned to open session. Action was then taken on the consideration of employment for a high school business teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. Member Dawson, seconded by Member Jagger- Taylor, motioned to hire Tricia Campbell as high school business teacher for the 2016-2017 school year. The vote carried 6 – 0. On a motion by Member Jagger-Taylor, seconded by Member Hogan, by roll call vote, the BOE unanimously approved to employ Mat Rund as an Assistant Boys Soccer Coach for the 2016-2017 school year. On a Motion by Member Jagger-Taylor, seconded by Member Roush, by roll call vote, the BOE unanimously approved to accept Jacob Shasteen’s resignation as High School Girls Basketball Coach. On a motion by Member Dawson, seconded by Member Roush, by roll call vote, the BOE unanimously approved to employ Rebecca Williamson as RTI/Title I Aide for the 2016-2017 school year. On a motion by Member Jagger-Taylor, seconded by Member Hogan, by roll call vote, the BOE approved to employ Angela Noland as a cook for the 2016-2017 school year. The vote carried 5 – 0 with Member Roush abstaining. On a motion by Member Roush, seconded by Member Hogan, by roll call vote, the BOE unanimously approved to employ Christina Mitchell as a bus driver for the 2016-2017 school year. On a motion by Member Roush, seconded by Member Herbert, by roll call vote, the BOE unanimously approved to employ Tina Gotts as bus monitor for the 2016-2017 school year. On a motion by Member Hogan, seconded by Member Jagger-Taylor, by roll call vote, the BOE unanimously approved to employ Tricia Campbell as Middle School Girls Track Coach for the 2016-2017 school year.

On a motion by Member Roush, seconded by Member Dawson, by roll call vote, the BOE unanimously approved to employ Justin Richards and Jeremy Ruderman as Assistant Football Coaches for the 20162017 School Year. Member Roush, seconded by Member Herbert, the BOE moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:26 pm. All were in favor. The next regular Meridian Board of Education meeting is Monday, August 15, 2016 in the Meridian CUSD #15 Board Room.
