OATMEAL HAIR MASK FOR DRY, DAMAGED HAIR

EGG YOLK & OLIVE OIL MASK FOR DRY, DAMAGED HAIR

We’ll start off simple and incredibly effective. You just need oatmeal, milk, and almond oil.

Egg yolk works best on dry hair. You can tweak this recipe based on your type of hair though. If you’ve got normal hair, use the whole egg. If you have oily hair, substitute egg yolks for egg whites.

Oatmeal is packed with B vitamins. B vitamins are incredibly beneficial for your hair. They not only help moisturize it, but they also help strengthen your hair so it doesn’t break every time you brush it. W H A T Y O U ’ L L NEED

Coconut oil and avocado are no different from anything else you’ve seen so far. These two ingredients are high in beneficial fats so they work best on dry hair. Coconut oil contains lauric acid which is anti-microbial so it can help get rid of dandruff and flakes. WH AT Y OU’L L N EE D

1 Tablespoon coconut oil 1 avocado

Gently melt the coconut oil. Coconut oil is pretty easy to melt. If your house is above 77° F, it shouldn’t even be solid. Whatever you do, don’t put it in the microwave though. Once it’s melted, massage it into your hair starting at the roots and go to the tips. While you’re waiting for it to set, use a food processor to turn your avocado into as close to a liquid as you can get. It’ll be much easier to wash out later if you do. Then, apply the avocado only to the tips.

1 egg ¼ cup plain yogurt ¼ cup mayonnaise Shower cap

Beat the egg until it develops foam, then mix in the yogurt and mayonnaise. Cover your hair as completely as you can. Toss on a shower cap to prevent any dripping. You’ll be leaving it in for an hour, so the shower cap is really important unless you have a dog that’s willing to clean up after you. After your hour is up, rinse with cold water and shampoo. Use this mask once a week.

1 ounce nettle leaves 2 cups white vinegar 2 cups water Lavender essential oil

Put the leaves and liquids (not the essential oil) in a pot on your stove and heat to boiling. Let it simmer on the stove for two hours. When it cools down, strain it and then add 2 drops of lavender essential oil. Put it into an air tight container. Before you use it, be sure to shake the container. Leave it in your hair as long as you want. You can even leave it in overnight if you choose.

BANANA, YOGURT, & HONEY FOR FRIZZY HAIR

We’re going to be rebuilding your damaged hair with this combination of incredibly potent ingredients. The only way to make it even more powerful would be to add avocado (not necessary though).

Bananas can help prevent hair loss. When combined with yogurt and honey, it makes for an incredible mask that can repair your hair and give you the shine and strength you’ve been lacking.

Oh, yes. Onion juice. Onions contain sulfur. Sulfur is one of the primary building components of keratin. Using onion juice has even been shown to help with the re-growth of hair in people with alopecia areta. WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• •

1 small onion 1-2 teaspoons honey

Juice the onion. Add 1-2 teaspoons of honey to the onion juice. The bigger the onion, the more honey you’ll need. Put the mixture where your hair is thinning out or all over your entire head. The choice is yours. Leave it on as long as you can stand it – overnight for better results. Do NOT cover your head. But if you’re going to sleep, you’ll definitely want to cover your pillow so it doesn’t soak into it. Shampooing your hair with a mild shampoo will get rid of the smell. Use this hair mask up to three times a week.

1 egg yolk 2 Tablespoon coconut oil 1 Tablespoon honey Shower cap

Blend the ingredients together. For this mask, you’ll want to apply it to damp hair. Pay special attention to your damaged ends. Cover your hair with a shower cap and let sit for 30 minutes. Wash with a mild shampoo and conditioner.

1 banana 2 Tablespoon plain yogurt 1 Tablespoon honey Shower cap

Blend all the ingredients then put the mask in your damp hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap for 30 minutes. Wash out with a mild shampoo and conditioner. You can use this mask once a week.

Use this mask once a week.

Apple cider vinegar and lemon juice can help restore your hair’s natural pH and remove buildup. The result is sleek, shiny hair that isn’t oily at all.
