Shred-A-Thon Event November 2, 2016 Identity theft has quickly become one of the most costly crimes happening today. In response to this problem, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and Pima County Sheriff’s Auxiliary Volunteers have partnered with ShredIt to host several “Shred-A-Thons.” The goal of these events is to raise the public’s awareness and educate them about identity theft. By shredding old documents, you can decrease the chances of thieves stealing them and assuming your identity. Date of Event: Saturday, November 5, 2016 Time of Event: 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (or until the trucks are full) Location: 8181 E Irvington Road (Pima Community College East Campus)
The service is free. This will be a drive-through shredding service. An attendant will go to your car and transfer all your documents to a bin for shredding. No more than 5 file size boxes full of paperwork will be accepted per car. Documents from businesses will not be accepted. These events are very popular and can create a long wait. There is no set time or ability to anticipate when the trucks will fill up. When the trucks are full, the Shred-A-Thon is over.
