Competition Format (Definition of Local Swimmers & Foreign Swimmers) • “Local Swimmers” – All Affiliated Member with a Valid Singapore NRIC or FIN# • “Foreign Swimmers”– All Swimmers without a Valid Singapore NRIC or FIN#
Competition Format Heats • Competitors (regardless of age) shall be placed in graduated time order, slowest to fastest and the last three heats shall be cyclically seeded(for events up to 200m) *last two heats shall be cyclically seeded for 400m events Evening Sessions – Finals • “A” Finals – the top ten (10) finishers of the Heats of each individual event (With the exception of Timed Final races) in the respective age group are eligible to compete. Should there be more than two (2) foreign swimmers who finish within the top ten (10) positions at the Heats, only the top two (2) fastest foreign swimmers would compete in the “A” Finals.
Competition Format • ““B” Finals – the remaining swimmers, within the top twenty (20) finishers of the Heats of each individual event who are not eligible to compete in the ‘A’ Finals (Except the 800m and 1500m Freestyle races) will be able to compete in the “B” Finals. Should there be more than three (3) foreign swimmers who finish within the top eleventh-twenty (11th -20th) finishers at the Heats, only the next top three (3) fastest foreign swimmers would compete in the 'B' Finals. • There will be NO “B” Finals if the event has less than twenty - two (22) swimmers in the Heats and there must be a minimum of five (5) swimmers in the “B” Finals start list for it to commence.
Competition Format • “C” Finals – the remaining swimmers, within the top thirty (30) finishers of the Heats of each individual event who are not eligible to compete in the ‘A’ and ‘B’ Finals (Except the 800m and 1500m Freestyle races) will be able to compete in the “C” Finals. Should there be more than three (3) foreign swimmers who finish within the top twenty-first to thirtieth (21st -30th) finishers at the Heats, only the next top three (3) fastest foreign swimmers would compete in the 'C' Finals. • There will be NO “C” Finals if the event has less than forty (40) swimmers in the Heats and there must be a minimum of five (5) swimmers in the “C” Finals start list for it to commence.
Competition Format Missed QET • Swimmers who missed the QET will not be allowed to participate in the Finals. • An administrative fee of S$25.00 (Heats) shall be imposed if a swimmer returns a time slower than the QET.
Competition Format Relay Submission Heats & Finals– Names and order of swimmers must be submitted one hour before the start of the respective session List of eligible swimmers for relay must be part of the entries which were submitted by the affiliates and teams Substitutions may be made only in the case of a documented medical emergency.

Medals & Records • Medals will be awarded to the top three swimmers in the ‘A’ Finals. • Meet Records” established by Singaporeans will be officially recognized by the Organizing Committee of the China Life 48th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships 2017

Most Valuable Swimmer The Most Valuable Swimmer Award will be given out to each male and female Singaporean swimmer who has the highest accumulated no. of FINA Points; from a maximum of 3 Olympic events* in this competition. *The Olympic events will follow as of 21st April 2017.
Competition Information • “Over the Top” start will be adopted for the morning heats. Kindly advise your swimmers to remain in their respective lane and move immediately back about 1metre as soon as they finish the race. Hold onto the lane rope and wait there. DO NOT MOVE INTO ANY OTHER LANE. When the next race starts, exit to pool as they normally do. The swimmers will not get the two quick whistles from the Referee with “Over the Top” starts. “Over The Top” will not be not be used for 50m races and the backstroke events.

Competition Format
(Call Room Procedures) 1.Swimmers are to report 20 minutes before their event (heats / finals) scheduled time. (Event scheduled time can be found on the start list) 2.The estimated timing on the start list is to be used as a guide only. Athletes and Coaches are responsible to check the reporting timing of their event and report to the call room accordingly A Television will be place in the training pool which will display the live scoring results similar at the Field-Of-Play. Athletes and Coaches can now be better informed on the events that are going on and can better estimate the reporting time to the call room.

(Call Room Procedures) 3. Tape on body is not allowed 4. Swimmer may request to leave the final call room. “DNS” status will be issued if the swimmer did not return when the COC release the rest into the FOP 5. Swimmers in Holding Area A(50M races) are not allowed to leave once they are being usher into.
Competition Format (Costume Protocol) Swimwear worn shall be according to FINA by-law BL7 and BL8. Every swimmer participating in 13th SNSC shall only wear a swimsuit approved by FINA as published on the FINA website. A list of approved swimsuits valid from 1 January 2017 can be found on www.fina.org
Competition Format (Costume Protocol) BL 8.3 From January 1, 2010 swimwear for men shall not extend above the navel nor below the knee, and for women, shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulder, nor shall extend below knee. All swimsuits shall be made from textile materials

Competition Format (Protest Procedure) Protests must be submitted in accordance with the following: 1.to the Meet Referee, 2.in writing on SSA Forms, 3.by the Affiliate team leader, 4.together with a deposit of S$100.00 and 5.within 30 minutes following the conclusion of the respective event.

Accreditation and Access Control • All swimmers and coaches are required to wear their accreditation passes to enter the competition venue via Main Entrance • All Spectators are to enter from East Entrance, Level 2
