Sow the seed thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm soil where the plants are to flower at a depth of 13mm (½"), covering lightly. (Germination takes 10-14 days.) As the seedlings develop thin in stages to achieve a final spacing of 10-15cm (4-6") apart, removing any competing weeds at the same time. Choose a sunny position. Alternatively, to flower early the following year sow direct during August-September.
