Ridge Rd, established when Mississippi was formed as a state, was a main route for travelers throughout the Leake County area for many years. It was a high point and provided easier navigation by horseback and wagon. Families would use it on treks to and from town to visit relatives and friends. Likewise loggers and merchants would utilize it’s convenience for transmitting merchandise to market. Although it is no longer an actual road on the map, it runs across one of the highest points of this property. This breath-taking ridgetop, running from the gate onto the property, provides an overview of the beautiful green rolling hills that will captivate your imagination. An overview of the vast landscape displays several home sites; one of which yields a birds-eye view of much of the land with a stunning backdrop of both pine and hardwood timber. The established road system allows easy access to each food plot and transport by truck or golf cart. As you drive into each food plot there are scaly barked white oaks scattered throughout. The acorn crop and lush green fields provide plenty of vegetation for the wildlife, and the pastures are tractor ready for the upcoming seasonal planting. If you plan to graze some cattle or horses, there is plenty of room for them also. Approximately 30 acres of pines have been harvested right off the main road and has been allowed to grow with native vegetation to allow bedding for the wildlife. The pine timber is about 18 years old and has not yet been thinned. Hardwoods make up about 50 percent of the fenced area and offer excellent cover and hunting. The creek that runs through the middle of the hardwoods is spring fed. There are several places along that you will see water seeping from rocks on the banks; the water is crystal clear, and of course there are tracks and signs of wildlife all along the creek. One of the several home sites is on a hilltop overlooking the 12 acre lake that has been stocked with bass, bream and crappie.
