Choose a sunny site and sow thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm soil at a depth of 13mm (½") in rows about 30cm (12") apart (Germination 10-14 days).Thin as necessary to leave 25-50mm (1-2") between plants. Grows best in good soil which has not recently been manured. Do not sow before April so avoiding the risk of plants running to seed (bolting). Make successional sowings so that young tender roots are always available. Sowing ➞ Cropping – 12 weeks.
