Billy Donovan Postgame Quotes Florida Head Coach Billy Donovan On Kasey Hill’s ankle injury sustained during the game
“We’ve had to deal with this over my tenure, it’s one of those injuries that’s a long healing process and it could be over a month before we get him back, We’re going to have to work hard to find ways to compensate for his absence.”
On the team
“Pat (Young) kept getting the ball in a good position and then holding it, allowing himself to get trapped. He has to be able to make a move sooner. “We have to make some lineup adjustments to be able to flow on offense and function as a whole. They have to be able to push through and be disciplined; it’s easy to say that, ‘I’m tired.’”
On Florida’s defensive play
“They fouled way too much and allowed Southern to shoot too high of a percentage. I think it’s because the team got fractured when Kasey (Hill) went down.”

DeVon Walker | Sophomore | Guard-Forward On playing point guard when Kasey Hill left the game with an injury
‘‘It was fine. Some things I was a little confused on, but it’s part of the experience. I feel a little bit better after that game, and of course I’ve got practice, and I’ll feel better after that.’’
On seeing Kasey Hill get injured
‘‘It’s tough. It’s disappointing. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know the extent. It was disappointing, though. You hate to see one of your teammates go down.’’
On the defense looking better tonight
‘‘It was very encouraging. We work on it in practice every day. Every game we are trying to make strides, and today was a stride in itself, so it was pretty good. We have to keep working and have a lot more work to do.’’
Michael Frazier II | Sophomore | Guard On Kasey Hill
‘‘I’m hoping he’s not out too long, but we don’t know yet. When we find that out, we’ll be able to go from there.’’
On the defense
‘‘First half, we played great defense, but in the second half we kind of got too relaxed and we have to get better with when we have teams down and we’re doing a good job. We have to keep that intensity level up and not get relaxed and complacent.’’
On playing point guard for a couple possessions
‘‘I played point in the Wisconsin game when Kasey (Hill) got in foul trouble, so I know the plays from all five positions, really, so it’s not a big deal.’’

Postgame Quotes
Southern University Head Coach Roman Banks On the game as a whole
“We came out there early on, kind of on our heels. They got at us with that intensity. I thought we just played all around the perimeter. I think the second half was a tale of a different team. We played our way, and got the ball out in transition and started attacking them. I think we got some touches on the inside and we played a little bit better. That’s the team I like to see. I think we ended up getting them on their heels. I think it’s a process for us. We’re still trying to find a leader on our team and this game will show us where we need to go, where we need to take the ball, and who will become the leader on the team.”
On Junior Forward Calvin Godfrey’s performance
“People have a job to do. He’s a guy that has to be consistent for us. There’s no doubt he’s our best post player, our best talent. I’d like to get him some help. We’ve got some bigger guys that need to help him out a little bit, but we’re trying to get him some touches. He’s still trying to learn the game a little bit. He’s still trying to learn his niche in our system. I think as the year goes on, he can continue to put up those type of numbers for us.”
