SOWING AND GROWING

For salad leeks, sow from March-July, direct into finely raked, moist, warm soil or in containers, spacing a small group of seeds 15cm (6") apart and 13mm (½") deep in blocks or rows. No need to remove surplus seedlings. Water freely in dry weather. Sow fortnightly for continuous supplies. For traditional full size leeks, transplant single seedlings from a March sowing into blocks or rows, allowing 15-23cm (6-9") between plants. Sowing ➞ Cropping - 10-12 weeks onwards.
