National League Sponsorship 2015/16
OUR VISION To be the best water polo club in Australia – in every respect. OUR MISSON To realize the potential of our athletes, coaches, officials, and members at every level – elite, participatory, and socially.
National League
The Melville Water Polo Club competes in the National Water Polo League, entering a men’s and women’s team, the Fremantle Mariners (men), and the Fremantle Marlins (women). These teams will be competing against 11 teams from New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia for the 2015-16 National League Championship, in a national competition running over 22 games from November 2015 to March 2016. Both our club teams are amongst the most successful in the National League. Our men have won 7 titles in the 25 years we have competed, and the women have won 5 titles in the 12 years that the women's league has been contested. Currently we have 4 of our Fremantle Marlins on the road to Rio Olympics, with two representing Australia in London 2012. The Fremantle Mariners also have 4 players in the mix for the 2016 Olympics, with two representing Australia in London 2012. Your support will go directly to help with the costs of training, travel, accommodation, and equipment required for the Club to enter teams in the National Water Polo League, allowing us to continue to be represented in the premier competition for our sport in Australia.
Sponsorship Details Water polo is an exciting, action packed sport that attracts a strong following locally, and around the country and internationally. We are pleased to offer you or your business the opportunity to gain exposure through our $2,000 Player Sponsorship Program. As a Player’s sponsor you will receive the following benefits:
1. You and your guest will be invited to attend three (3) Sponsors Functions over the NWPL season. We will host our VIPs and guests for drinks and canapés in the stunning Bicton Pool surrounds overlooking the Swan River, during these games. More details regarding the functions will be communicated closer to date.
2. Your company logo will feature in our home game programs. 3. Your company logo will be highly visible through signage at our home games. (Signage to be provided by the company.)
4. Your company will be acknowledged multiple times during our home game Sponsors Function Events and during the game commentary.
5. Your company logo will feature on our sponsorship page on the Club website for 12 months.
6. Free entrance to all National League and WA Premier League home games for season 2015/16.

A Proud History Melville Water Polo Club (MWPC) is a foundation club of the Western Australian Water Polo Association, one of six clubs to compete in the inaugural Western Australian Water Polo competition in 1946. In the early years, Club games were held in the river, in the original "Bicton Baths". Players for each of the competing teams were drawn from their respective swimming clubs. Melville played South Fremantle in the first ever Western Australian water polo grand final losing by a goal in extra time. Melville won it's first senior grade premiership, the B Grade premiership in 1949/50, and it’s first A Grade flag in the 1953/54 season. Over time, Melville has won more senior and junior grade premierships than any other Club in the history of the Western Australian Association. The premises, arguably the best water polo facility in Australia, is held by the Club on a long term ground lease from the City of Melville. The Club facilities have been built through the hard work of our Club members and supporters. The purpose built water polo pool was completed in 1981, and the Club Rooms were extensively renovated in the late 1980’s. These rooms are built on the same site that housed our foundation Club, the Melville Amateur Swimming Club, established in 1926. Today, Melville has 14 senior teams, 12 junior teams and the extremely popular Flippaball with 600 children learning our sport. Melville is also the home to the highly successful Fremantle Mariners (men) and Fremantle Marlins (women) National League teams. Over the years, Melville has been played a crucial role in the development of 11 home grown Olympians, with 4 currently on the National League roster and another 3 on the road to Rio 2016. MWPC athletes have also represented the country with distinction at various World Championships and Junior World Championships. From humble beginnings, the Melville Water Polo Club has come a long way. We look forward to you joining us on our journey towards continued success – both in and out of the pool.
