Ready, Steady, Grow!! Join the great pumpkin race, it's great fun for all the family! Just choose your seeds, note your sowing date and the race is on! To see how you are doing - use the tape measure included to find out how fast your Pumpkins are growing.
How to grow the biggest, fattest pumpkins Sow your seeds: April-June For the largest pumpkins start seeds in April. Plant them into a quality compost using 7.5cm (3") pots (Fun to Grow pots are ideal). Push one seed in to around 2.5cm (1") for each pot and cover with compost. Water pots, cover with paper and place in a warm, dark place. When leaves appear, remove paper and place pots in a warm, light place to grow on.You can also plant seeds direct in the garden from April-June – ask an adult to help make a mini-greenhouse for each plant by cutting a plastic bottle in half. It will help your plants in the early stages.

Care of your Patty Pumpkin plants: For really large pumpkins, choose a sunny, warm place and dig in plenty of garden or bagged compost and perhaps some fertiliser. Plant your Pumpkins at a spacing of 90cm (3') apart and water in. Keep the plants watered and feed plants every two weeks with liquid fertiliser.
