AYSO Region 55 Referee Training (Update 8/22/17) Step 1: Register as a Volunteer Register on-line as a Volunteer with AYSO at www.AYSO55.org Note: All referees, must be registered as volunteers. Youth volunteers 10 – 17 will need a parent or guardian to complete the on-line volunteer process for them
Step 2: Complete Safe Haven All volunteers must complete the AYSO Safe Haven Course. Safe Haven is required child and volunteer protection training. This course may be found at www.aysou.org. You will need your AYSO ID to register and Blue Sombrero username and password to enter AYSOU (this is the username and password you created at AYSO55.org to register). This course is free and does not need a Regional Voucher. Step 3: Complete Concussion Training All volunteers must complete the AYSO concussion training. This training helps volunteer to know how to recognize possible concussion and what to do if there is a chance a player has a concussion. This course may be found at www.aysou.org. You will need your AYSO ID to register and Blue Sombrero username and password to enter AYSOU (this is the username and password you created at AYSO55.org to register). You can get this from your volunteer profile. This course is free and does not need a Regional Voucher. Step 4: Complete a Basic Regional Referee Class -(Online and Companion Course) First: 1. Contact the Regional Referee Administrator to receive a Regional Voucher code for your classes.

Second: In addition to the Basic Regional Referee Online training, volunteers must complete one of the Regional Referee Online Companion Courses in person. Please visit www.aysou.org to register. 1. Go to Live Courses 2. Select Regional Referee Online Companion 3. Select date and location for your course (times of the course will be listed) 4. Secure your spot by hitting the blue Register button on the right. This will secure your spot on the date and location of your choosing
Only people who have completed Safe Haven, Concussion and Basic Regional Referee Online Training before the Field Training can attend this course.
