TSSP Annual Meeting in Nashville University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy / March 26, 2015
On Saturday February 21, student pharmacists from across the state attended the 7th annual Tennessee Society of Student Pharmacists Meeting in Nashville. The focus of this year’s meeting was on leadership and innovation. The meeting commenced with a message from business motivational speaker, Sam Davidson, in which he emphasized servant leadership and community building. A panel consisting of pharmacists from Aegis laboratories, CMS Star Ratings in community practice, and the Tennessee Department of Mental Health spoke to students about ways to incorporate innovative ideas into real world practice. Additionally, a panel of various student pharmacists engaged in leadership throughout pharmacy school provided insight into methods to avoid burnout in order to maintain a healthy, successful career. UTHSC fourth year student pharmacist, Kathryn Qualls, was awarded the TSSP Allegiance Award, an honor given annually to a student exhibiting dedication, dependability, and commitment to TSSP.
