Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or one seed per 50mm (2") pot in a greenhouse at approx. 18-21˚C (65-70˚F) using a good quality compost. Cover seeds with 25mm (1") compost. Germination 10-21 days. Grow on carefully planting out when the risk of frost has passed, allowing 38cm (15") between plants each way. Best grown in blocks for good pollination. Can also be sown directly outside, 2 seeds per station, thinning to the strongest seedlings. Cobs are ready to pick when tassels turn brown. Sowing ➞ cropping – 14-16 weeks.
