Entry Fee & Registration
Registration forms received without complete handicap information for all team members will automatically be placed in Division I. The committee will not seek missing handicap information. For more information, please contact Jane DeHaven at (260) 341-7156 or [email protected].
A rain date is not available. In the event of inclement weather, a phone hotline is established to announce alternate plans for the day.
Please wear appropriate attire (i.e., no denim, cutoffs, tank tops, etc.). Soft spikes are mandatory. If necessary, please have spikes changed prior to the day of the tournament (any golf course can replace spikes).
Fee is $275 per entrant. Entry fee includes greens fee, continental breakfast, cart rental, team photo, practice tee, lunch, putting contest, snacks, Celebration Dinner and a Vera Bradley gift.
Entry deadline is Friday, April 7, 2017 in order to play in the Classic and receive a ticket to the Tuesday, April 18, 2017 Vera Bradley Annual Sale. Entry deadline is Friday, April 14, 2016 in order to play in the Classic only. The committee reserves the right to close registration prior to the deadline if the field is full. Although individuals may enter, the committee cannot guarantee that all individual entries will be paired. It is recommended to enter as a team. The committee reserves the right to accept late entries if the field is not filled by the entry deadline. Forms must be accompanied by a copy of each player’s most recent GHIN Card or letter from a golf professional attesting to her 18-hole handicap index.
Format
Play format will be a modified Florida Scramble. Tournament play is open to women amateurs. There will be two competitive divisions playing for prizes and proximity awards. Division I consists of teams who have at least one player with a handicap index of 17.0 or less. Division II consists of teams whose players all have a handicap index of 17.1 or more.
Any changes in the team after May 11 must be made within that division placement and approved by the tournament chairperson. Players’ handicap divisions and tee times will be confirmed via a letter sent at the end of May.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the first through fourth lowest team scores in Division I and II. Members of teams that include professional or IHSAA golfers are ineligible to compete for score or proximity prizes.
Celebration Dinner
A cocktail reception with a silent auction will be held at 5 pm on Monday, June 5 at Sycamore Hills Golf Club. A Celebration Dinner will follow. The Classic pledges to raise spirits, hope, awareness and resources for the fight against breast cancer. Proceeds from the Classic support the Vera Bradley Foundation for Breast Cancer Research Laboratories at the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Cancer Center.
