INTRODUCTION In order to perform several of the repair guides for the Volvo 740, the rear wheels of the car must be raised off the ground. This guide will show you how to do this using a hydraulic car jack and jack stands.

Step 1 — 1985-1988 Volvo 740 Jacking Rear Wheels 

Turn car off and remove keys from ignition.



Place car in park (automatic) or neutral (manual).



Engage parking brake.

Step 2



Use hydraulic jack on frame of car to raise car.



Place jack head underneath frame couple (pictured).

Place jack stand on frame of car and remove jack.
