19th February 2017 Simon writes......19th February 2017 THE TEN COMMANDMENTS It was great to have Patrick Nullens start our sermon series TEN WORDS OF LIFE last Sunday as he reflected on WORDS OF FREEDOM. This week we will look at WORDS OF WISDOM and it will help lead into the theme of our Church Weekend Away, 17-19 March. I hope you can join us for this special time together!

Ten Words of Life #2 Words of Wisdom 9am Holy Communion - Church Centre, 10.30am Holy Communion – BSB Psalm 119: 17-32 Deut 4: 5-8 Matt 5: 13-16 Collect for 2nd Sunday before Lent. Almighty God, give us reverence for all creation and respect for every person, that we may mirror your likeness in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Next week: February 26th 9am Holy Communion @ Church Centre 10.30am Morning Worship @ BSB PLEASE PRAY FOR: The work of Patrick Nullens and the staff & students at ETF, the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Leuven.

As a reminder, these are the commandments I am GOD, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of a life of slavery. 1. No other gods, only me. 2. No carved gods of any size, shape or form; don’t bow down to them & don’t serve them. 3. No misusing the name of GOD; GOD won’t put up with the irreverent use of his name. 4. Observe the Sabbath & keep it holy. 5. Honour your parents. 6. No murder. 7. No adultery. 8. No stealing. 9. No lies about your neighbour. 10. Don’t set your heart on anything that is your neighbour’s.

Our individual reflection on the Word of God and how we receive the Ten Commandments into our daily lives. Lynn Nwagbara and her work representing African Enterprise in Europe. For the task of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ within Africa and for Europeans to learn from African Christians. The group planning our Church Weekend Away – Helen Curtis, Paul Curtis, Ian Dalton, Nathan Gregory, Alison Sourdoire, Ann Start, Ann Tyndall – and for Eric & Jennifer McCoy preparing the work with youngsters. Those we know who are sick or struggling at this time....including those we’ve been asked to pray for Sam, Karen, Lorna, Poppy...and for all those who mourn, including Alan & Ann. For the government and people of Belgium.

Kerkfabriek: The St Paul’s Church “Kerkfabriek Committee” represents St Paul’s to the local and state authorities in Belgium. This year we must elect 5 members of St Paul’s to the Committee and are calling for candidates. We especially encourage members of St Paul’s who speak Dutch to apply. Applications close today. Annual Church Meeting – 26th March 2017-The Electoral Roll The church's electoral roll is the register of its voting members. Enrolment is a way of saying, “I belong.” It is one way of showing your commitment to St Paul’s Church and the Church as a whole. If you are not already on our roll we hope that you will complete the application form and return it so that our new list is ready for the Annual Church Meeting on March 26th. Vacation Bible School - VBS This year’s summer kids club will be 21st25th August. We will spend a week at the 'Maker Fun Factory' A world where curious kids become hands-on inventors who discover they're lovingly crafted by God. For now, please mark these dates in your diary both for your kids to come along but also to help out and be on the team.

Church Weekend Away Friday 17thSunday 19th March. Dr. Prof. Patrick Nullens will be speaking on '10 Words of Life' looking at our relationship with God and the world around us. We also have a team from Vineyard Brussels coming to lead our children and youth work over the weekend. On top of this we have activities and entertainment planned to make this a really fun and enjoyable time together. For more information please visit our website or ask Simon or Nathan.
