Fun Game: Follow the leader
Fun Game: 1v1
Implementation The group are split into two team. One team (white) are dishes, the other (black) domes. The players have to dribble around turning their cones to their team name. Domes are cones the correct way up, dishes are cones upside down/incorrect way up. Count how many domes/dishes are after a couple of minutes for a winner.
Implementation • Players work in pairs, dribbling around the grid. One player is the leader (white) the other the follower (dark). • The leader tries to lose the follow, by changing speed and direction. • Play for 2-3 minutes then switch roles, on the instruction switch the leader passes the ball under the followers legs then they start again.
Implementation 1v1 to the wide goals. The defender passes the ball from the middle of the goals. • The attacking player (black) to score on either wide goal. • If the defending player wins the ball, dribble to where the attackers start.
Coaching Points • Promote the use of both feet • Players should keep the ball close to them • Keep their head up and look for space • Change speed and direction
Coaching Points • Head up looking for the defender • Dribble with both feet • Change speed to beat the defender • Change direction to beat the defender
Progression • Change the movement around the grid: left/right foot only/only laces/only soles etc Coaching Points • Head up looking for space and taggers • Change speed and direction
All sessions end with small sided games- play two 3v3’s. Play for 15 minutes at least
