LOOKING BACK . . . It has been a very busy time for the Bladen Baptist Association and our churches. In October Hurricane Matthew caused wide-spread flooding throughout Bladen and surrounding Counties. Many of our churches opened their doors and became shelters, serving hot meals to families that had been affected by the flooding. Elizabethtown Baptist Church welcomed the NC Baptist Men in and a Disaster Center was set up on site. Over 100 families received assistance such as tree removal, tearing and taking out wet sheetrock and tarps were placed on roof tops that had extensive damage. On October 20th the NC Baptist Men delivered a tractor trailer full of clothes to the BBA. SECC came out and helped set things up and volunteers came faithfully to keep things moving. As of today, 471 families from Bladen and surrounding counties have been able to get needed items.
We had 2 of our churches that had flooding, Abbottsburg Baptist had minor damage and Peace Baptist in Bladenboro was flooded up to 5ft inside. The Baptist Men came in and tore out sheetrock and sprayed for mold and then Rev. Kincy Barrow and the guys from Southeastern Carolina Crossroads began the reconstructing. A Special Thank You to Southeastern Carolina Crossroads for all your help. May each of you draw near to the Lord.
PRAISING GOD FOR ALL THINGS . . . Delco First Baptist Church Men and the guys from SECC has been working on the CWJC House behind the association to get it up and running. Great Job !!!!
Open Door Ministries and Richardson Baptist Church along with many others feed (eat in or delivered) 475 Thanksgiving Meals to families throughout the county.
Our Churches were also busy sharing the Love of Jesus Christ with family and friends. White Lake Baptist had a wonderful time celebrating with the children.
LOOKING AHEAD . . . Sunday School is critical in the life and health of a local Church. As Sunday School goes so goes the Church!
