5th Grade Wizard Girls take Chicago Bulls Summer Jam The Wheatland Wizards 5th grade girls won the Chicago Bulls Summer Jam tournament, which took place from June 20-24th. The Wizards went 3 - 0 against other 5th grade teams in the tournament to qualify for the championship game at the United Center. The Wizards defeated the Academy Bulls team 23 - 11 in the championship game to win the title.

6th GRADE ILLINOIS WIZARD GIRLS WIN STATE After pre-qualifying earlier in March, the Wizards 6th grade girls team won the Central District AAU State Basketball Tournament held May 28-30th in River Forest, IL. The Wizards, who finished 2nd last year, cruised through the field beating the River Forest Raiders 60-12, Full Package 55-4 and in a rematch the River Forest Raiders 60-14 to become the State Champs in the U11 Division. The Wizards will represent Illinois at the Nationals, June 29th thru July 7th in Kenner, LA. (click on photo to enlarge)

4th GRADE ILLINOIS WIZARD BOYS QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS by finishing 2nd in the AAU Central Illinois State Championship this weekend. They were tied with 7 seconds remaining in the finals when the other team hit a 3-pointer. They followed with a free throw, but lost by 2 points. It was a fun weekend! The Nationals are played in Des Moines, Iowa, during the first week in July. Congratulations on a job well done!! ILLINOIS LADY WIZARDS QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS 6th Grade Illinois Lady Wizards after going 60-3 during their regular season have qualified for AAU Nationals. They qualified by winning the Noblesville Classic Super Regional in Noblesville, Indiana. They will represent Illinois at Nationals from June 29, 2007 - July 7, 2007 in Kenner, LA. For the 2006 State competition, the Illinois Lady Wizards took 2nd place. Their goal for 2007 is to be the State Champions. Keep up the great work! 6th Grade Lady Wizards are Magical The 6th Grade Lady Wizards played in the 6th Grade Bolingbrook tournament over the weekend and took 1st place. The Lady Wizards have improved their overall record to 55-2 and finished the Neuqua League undefeated.

7th Grade Boys Aren't Singing the Blues The 7th Grade Boys Blue team beat the Illinois Speed 38-33 this weekend to win the Huskies tournament in Naperville. A strong defensive effort led the way for the Wizards. The boys recently won the Wheaton Classic tournament (photos) and finished 2nd in the Bloomingdale

tournament. The teams record improved to 37-5

overall. 5th Grade Boys on a Win Streak Since starting the season at .500, the 5th Grade Boys Blue team has won 14 straight games to move to 26 - 12 overall. This weekend they beat Kaneland 38-27, Batavia 29-24 and LaGrange 29-19. Tournament Highlights The Wizards boys and girls have competed recently in various tournaments. Wizards Players Continue Playing High School Basketball Congratulations to the nine 8th grade boys from last years Wizards team that have made their freshmen basketball teams at Neuqua Valley, Waubonsie Valley and Benet Academy High Schools. Special thanks to head coach Charlie Brown who did a great job developing these young men over the past few years. Check out Summer Camp Photos!

The Wheatland Wizards 6th Grade Girls took 1st place at the Rockford Tournament, Feb 24-25th, playing up in the 7th grade division. The Boys 4th Gold team won the Strictly Shooting March Madness tournament. Team defense was the key as they held their 4 opponents to an average of 13.5 points per game. The Wheatland Wizards 6th Grade Boys Blue team won the Bloomingdale BB Tournament this weekend. The boy's had to beat teams from St. Charles, Batavia and in the final, Oswego. The boys averaged 43 points/game and allowed only an average of 32 points/game. Along the way the Wizards snapped a 26 game win streak for Batavia. The 4th grade boys blue team recently won the PDAAK tournament. Special Awards for positive character traits and quality performance were given to two players on the team. 5th Grade Lady Wizards placed 2nd in the Bulls-Sox winter league and placed 3rd in the league tournament.

7th Grade Boys celebrate their 1st place at the Wheaton Tournment. (click on photos to enlarge) Boys Teams Improve Overall Records The Boys 4th and 7th Grade Blue teams are playing great basketball and have improved to 14-1 and 14-2, respectively. Both teams have done very well in tournament play. The Boys 3rd grade teams are ramping up their season and are currently 2-1 against other 3rd grade teams.

6th Grade Lady Wizards Continue to Roll The 6th Grade Lady Wizards played in the 7th Grade Dolphine tournament over the weekend and took 2nd place, losing in the championship game by only 6 points. The Lady Wizards have improved their record to 27-1 as they continue to be undefeated in the Neuqua League. The 5th Grade Lady Wizards have improved their overall record to 10-2. Over the August 27/28th weekend, four Lady Wizards played in the Gus Macker 3 on 3 tournament up in Rockford in the 11-12 yr old bracket. The Lady Wizards went 5-0 to win the championship. The four player team consisted of Zoe Swift, Kiley Dunning, Kennedy Cattenhead, and Bria Walker. Great job! 6th Grade Lady Wizards off to Fast Start The 6th Grade Lady Wizards are currently undefeated at 18-0. The team has won by an average of more than 20 points per game. The Lady Wizards have won the Rockford and St Charles tournaments already this year. A great start to their winter season!
