2007 inductees Scott Losche - Baseball One of the finest baseball players to ever don a Baruch uniform, Scott was a 3-time Knickerbocker and two-time CUNY All-Star. He was one of the few players ever to be named an All-Star both as a position player and as a pitcher. A 3-year team captain, Scott finished his career with a .395 batting average and twice finished in the CUNY top 10 for batting average. A clutch run producer, Scott ended his career with more than 100 RBI. After his stellar playing career, Scott was named the head baseball coach in 2000. He was twice named CUNY coach of the Year and in 2001 led Baruch to its first CUNY baseball title.

Aziza E. Mashariki - Cheerleading & Dance Aziza, a 2000 graduate with a degree in business administration, is a four-time CUNYAC Cheerleading Champion and team captain during her junior and senior year. She was named the team’s Most Valuable Player due to her leadership skills and team dedication. During her years at Baruch, Aziza was a catalyst in assisting her coach with choreographing championship cheer and dance routines.

Irina Shinderman Zaretsky - Women’s Tennis Irina was one of the premier Division III Women’s Tennis student athletes from 19921996. She was the Hudson Valley Athletic Conference #1 singles and #1 doubles champion during all four of her playing years. In CUNY, Irina’s relentless style of play and dominant forehand garnered her two #1 singles championships, as well as two doubles championships.

John Steuer - Men’s Basketball A tough competitor, John brought a high level of intensity to the game. His trademark jump shot made him a two time MVP, the first player at Baruch to score 1,000 points, and the Baruch Athlete of the Year in 1977. He enjoyed excellent relationships with his coaches and friendships with his teammates. John credits the people he encountered through his Baruch basketball experience for assisting him in achieving his academic, athletic and career goals.

Helen Belden –Athletic Administrator & Coach From 1963 to 1997, Helen was an instrumental figure in Baruch Athletics. As Senior Women’s Athletic Administrator, she provided direction for student-athletes and was responsible for all aspects of Baruch’s NCAA women’s varsity teams. As Archery Coach she coached the co-ed teams and helped them rise to full varsity status. She was also an outstanding teacher who was able to generate student interest and address the needs and issues that relate directly to the lives of Baruch students.

Dr. William Eng – Athletic Administrator & Coach For more than 30 years, Dr. Eng has served as Director of Athletics with distinction, compassion, and leadership in overseeing the entire athletic and physical education program. During his tenure, he led the change in transforming the Baruch facilities from a small gym on 23rd Street to a state-of-the-art three-level NCAA facility. He has led Baruch to two Commissioner Cup Championships. He also coached the women’s tennis team to three CUNYAC Championships. In addition, he coached men‘s soccer and women’s cross-country. Dr. William Eng has left an indelible mark in Baruch Athletics history.

Peter Lewison - Fencing Peter, a 1984 graduate and team captain, was a two-time CUNY Foil Champion, Baruch MVP, and a 1981 NCAA 1st Team All-American. In 1984, he won the USFA North American Circuit Championship, and in 1989, he was the USFA National Foil Champion and named the USOC Fencing Athlete of the Year. His prestige in fencing extended to two Olympic appearances, in Los Angeles (1984) and in Seoul (1988).
