THANKSGIVING 2009
ToM ToM Thanksgiving 2009
Dear Adirondack Families, Did we actually have Peter Pan visit our cove on a pirate ship? Yes! Yes we did. Did we all have Weird Hair Day and a Trash Can Smack Down in the Mess Hall? Yes we did. Did we share the spirit of Awiskini, exuberant dances, and the thrill of seeing records broken in the “Venti Triangle?” Yes, we did all those things plus many, many more. Well, here we are in October and the trees have turned the peninsula to a golden orange. Camp sounds different, with only the quiet lap of the lake on the rocks and the occasional sound of a hammer as Tim, Steve, and Karen prepare buildings for winter. Camp looks different too; docks are out of the water, swim lines are coiled around bunks in Gull cabin, and the mess hall is full of kayaks and canoes. Adirondack may seem to be sleeping, but just beneath the surface, things are actually humming! The summer of 2010 is well underway as we are hiring staff, planning great new programs, and ordering needed equipment. Best of all, we are hearing back from so many of you as you sign up for another amazing Adirondack summer! Right now, this minute, our camp is almost two thirds full for next summer. We have had a record re-enrollment of campers! What are your plans for next summer? If you see yourself back on beautiful Lake George, surrounded by this incredible community of friends, I urge you to sign up soon. The spirit of Adirondack Camp lives within our campers, and we invite you to come back and be a part of it all. Please join us for summer 2010 and have a great year! Noonway, Linda & Matt Linda Goodwin Matt Basinet
