eku The 2010-11 season didn’t go the way the Lady Colonels, their coaches or their fans had hoped or expected, but that was then. This is now. Now, fourth-year head coach Chrissy Roberts welcomes back three starters, including a second team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection and an OVC All-Newcomer team honoree. Now, two Lady Colonels that sat out last season after transferring from other Division I programs are eligible to play. Now, four of the team’s seven newcomers join the program with two years of collegiate experience at the junior college level. Now, the team has a hard-nosed, twotime all-state freshman guard. Now, the lone senior Lady Colonel is hungry to end her career as a winner. Now, the 2011-12 Lady Colonel basketball team has a new look. Nine of the team’s 14 players have never played in a game for EKU. Seven are newcomers to the program, two others sat out last season after transferring to Eastern Kentucky. Only five players that saw game action last season return. “Team chemistry is huge,” Roberts said. “It helped us that a lot of our student-athletes attended summer school. It helped our chemistry a lot. We’ll continue to do a lot of team-building exercises to continue to build relationships.” Those five, which include returning
