Happy summer's end to all our friends! I generally love the heat, but this year I'm looking forward more than ever to cooler weather! Our fall/winter fabrics and samples have started coming in, and they put me in the mood to put away my flip-flops and pull out my sweaters. In the past few months, we've seen so many beautiful fabrics that our job of selecting our favorites has been particularly challenging. From exciting contemporary prints to luscious reproduction fabrics, the coming weeks are going to be filled with eye candy! We're trying to get better at blogging, and have good intentions of posting pictures of the new collections that arrive every week. You can get to our blog from the Creekside Quilting website home page….or if you're so inclined, you can subscribe to the blog postings by email. (The instructions are on the blog.)

Karen (left), was raised in Muscatine and attended ISU. After her husband retired from the military in 1999, they returned to Iowa. Karen worked for the West Des Moines school system until recently….now we get her!

Marcia (right) has been quilting since 1993, and retired about a year ago from the State Attorney General's office. An Iowa native, Marcia hasn't met a fabric she doesn't like, although she's partial to civil war fabrics. An active member of the Des Moines guild, she and teammate Ginny are cochairing next year's show.

It isn't often we get to welcome TWO Creekside staffers in one newsletter, but that's the case this time. To accommodate the changing schedules of our existing team, we've changed our schedule up a bit and are thankful for the additional help that Karen and Marcia will bring. I know you'll find them eager to help with quilting challenges you may be facing. Say hi next time you're in!
