Jeremy Shaffer, Ph.D. Director of Product Management and AASHTO Pontis Bridge Management Project Manager
Pontis (now known as AASHTOWare Bridge Management) has a 20-yearplus history as the world’s leading bridge management software. In use by over 40 state DOTs, the software is undergoing major new enhancements that will significantly expand its capabilities while making it easier and more intuitive to use. Key features being added include multi-objective analysis, utility functions, advanced deterioration models, life-cycle costing, and incorporation of risks. To further enhance a complete end-to-end system, Bentley and AASHTO have also entered into a new agreement to allow InspectTech’s advanced inspection modules to be optionally added by agencies to the AASHTOWare Bridge Management software. This webinar will cover an overview of AASHTOWare Bridge Management and the upcoming versions and plans as well as new options available via the Bentley/ AASHTO agreement.
Dr. Shaffer is the Director of Product Management for Bentley InspectTech and serves as the project manager for AASHTOWare Bridge Management/ Pontis. He has spent the past 10 years working on advanced inspection and management software for key infrastructure assets and has written more than 40 papers on the topic of improving bridge inspection and management via software. Shaffer is a frequent speaker at conferences, and actively serves on a number of industry groups including the FHWA’s Bridge Preservation Expert Task Group; International Bridge Conference Executive Committee; Transportation Research Board Committees for Bridge Management and Structures Maintenance; and the Southeast Bridge Preservation Board.
