Captains Park Saturday, November 15, 2014 – Sunday, November 16, 2014 10 am - 4 pm CNU Coaching Staff and coaches from the top Division I, II and III Universities in the Mid-Atlantic States $225 per player Provided by CNU staff both days

All players will receive quality instruction from top Division I, II and III coaches from the Mid– Atlantic Region. This camp is a must for any high school player who is interested in playing college baseball at a high level. Registration: Online at www.captainsbaseballcamp.com. Equipment:

Directions: From the North:

Take 64 East toward Norfolk. Get off on exit 258 J Clyde Morris Blvd. Exit and bear right on J Clyde Morris Blvd. Follow to CNU campus. Stay on Left lane crossing Warwick Blvd. Continue to circle go 3/4 around circle and proceed onto Shoe road. Make right on N. Moores Lane. Continue on and Captains Baseball Field parking lot will be on the left.

From the South:

Take 64 West and get off Exit 258 J Clyde Morris Blvd. Go left on J Cyle Morris Blvd. Follow to CNU Campus. Stay of left land crossing Warwick Blvd and continue to circle. Go 3/4 around the circle onto Shoe Road. Make a right onto N. Moores Lane. Continue on and Captains Baseball Field parking lot will be on the left.

Camp Director John Harvell is in his 14th year as coach of the Christopher Newport University baseball team. Under his leadership, CNU has achieved tremendous success at both the conference and national level. The CNU program is annually considered one of the top programs in the nation in Division III. Harvell's impact on the program continued its steady rise with his third CNU team In 2003, he led the Captains all the way to national championship day at the NCAA Division III World Series, where they finished #2 in the country. In 2011, Harvell's Captains set a new program record by winning 26 straight games. CNU also achieved its first-ever national #1 ranking during the 2011 season. Harvell was selected the Regional Coach of the Year following CNU's 39-7 season in 2011. For his efforts John has been named USA South Athletic Conference coach of the Year three times. John graduated from Christopher Newport, where he was well-known to CNU fans as both a baseball and basketball player. He played three years of baseball and two years of basketball after transferring from Howard University, where he had played baseball and was a kicker on the football team.

Assistant Directors John Cole begins his second season as an assistant coach with the Captains. He oversees the development of the CNU pitching staff. In 2014, the CNU starting pitching staff has an earned run average of below 2.00. He comes to CNU after two head coaching stints at Rowan University and the University of Pennsylvania. His career coaching mark is 379-219 which includes one divisional title, three conference titles and two trips to the NCAA Division III World Series. For all his teams’ successes, Cole has been named Philadelphia Big 5 Coach of the Year, twice named Mid-Atlantic Coach-of-the-year and four times named NJAC Coach-of-the-year. Cole had previously coached at William & Mary, Dartmouth, DeSales and the University of North Carolina. Cole has recruited and signed over 35 professional players including two Major Leaguers. He played professional baseball with the Boise Hawks Class A Northwest League in 1986. Cole earned a master's degree in education from the University of North Carolina in 1988.
