LWML Mission Grant REBUILDING NORD EST HAITI LUTHERAN SCHOOL
Grant funds to Rebuilding Nord Est Haiti Lutheran School are helping rebuild the school. This past summer the construction of the surrounding wall for the school property began. The school assists children through educating them in a sound Christian environment with no voodoo influence seeping into doctrine. The new school building provides the ability to reach the goals of providing this education in Ouanaminthe and the process of building the school is an avenue for the Gospel to be shared with the community
and the workers. Many people are involved with the construction in Haiti as it is all hand labor, materials need to be delivered, and food is needed for laborers. The activity familiarizes many around the community about the church and God’s work. Yves Telemarque, a first grade teacher, was born in Vallieres (northeast Haiti). He went to school in Ouanaminthe for his teaching certificate and has been involved with the ministry and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Haiti since 2005.
