Board of Directors Subject: LSC Monthly Board Meeting Agenda Location: Bantam Bistro Date: July 28, 2015 Time: 7:30PM 1. District/State – Meeting was not attended by Litchfield. 4. Financial Report – Kelly a. 2015 Budget Status: Kelly reported on the current state. Scott presented a 3 year look at the business. He showed the cost per player in 2014 to run each program and the breakeven level for each travel age to cover the costs of the leagues and officials (6 players at U10, 7 players at U11-14, 10 players at U14 Premier). b. Spring 2016 Rates: Discussion occurred on the current state of the business and our run rate for the past 3 years. As enrollment declines, 3rd grade is moved to travel, and recreational using paid coaches, there is not enough revenue to cover the cost. Travel costs have not increased since 2010. Decision was made to set the rates for the Spring 2016 at $90 Recreational, $130 for District Travel, $135 for Premier. In addition, the family maximum is raised to $320 and high school travel will incur a $20 jersey fee. Online discount will be removed since 90% of the registration is now coming in via this method. 5. Fall 2015 a. Travel i. On-Time Deadline June 13, 2015 ii. 118 messages were sent this past week to travel registrants about missing information to complete the registration process. Information about what is required is on paper registration form, backpack flyer and receipt when they register. Looking for options on how to make this better. This is the worst fall ever – 7%. Discussion was held about the potential to force the upload of the picture at registration time. Action: Scott to investigate if the 7/31/2015

registration system can support this AND to see if it makes it more difficult to extract the picture for loading on the CJSA website. iii. Initial Rosters Aug 15, 2015 1. Breakdown of U11 Boys. Board decided to break this group into 2 even teams. Coaches will be asked to divide the teams. If this cannot be done, Dave will run an iSoccer evaluation session to rank the kids. 2. GU10 – Discussion on how to handle large numbers. Decision was made to break this into 2 teams, one playing on Saturday and one on Sunday. If a B league is on Sunday, the team will be placed there, otherwise this will be an A team. iv. District Meeting – League selection Aug 19, 2015 v. Coaches Meeting – Aug 26, 2015 Girls: 6:30PM, Boys 7:30PM vi. Premier Scheduling Meeting – Aug 30 2015 vii. Uniform Status: Tucker, in absence, reported initial order was placed the first of July and a second order was scheduled to be placed Aug 1. b. Recreational i. Soccer Extreme : Sam reported that if help can be found for the PreK program, Extreme will not be needed this fall. A discussion was held about the possibility of getting high school kids to volunteer to assist.

6. Fields 7. Coaching 8. Referee – Terry reported all was good with the spring. A discussion was held about the payment card and a decision was made to discontinue the use of the payment card for the upcoming season. Terry also commented on the state of the benches. Action: Sam to ask Boy Scouts if someone would like an Eagle Scout project and replace the benches at White Field. 9. Area Summer Camps a. No#1 Soccer Camp (Rob Andrulis) i. June 29 - Plumb Hill ii. July 26 & Aug 2 – Western Conn University b. Soccer Extreme (David Nuttall) i. Jul 19, Jul 26, Aug 9 – Canterbury School ii. Aug 3 – White Field 10. Fundraising – Sam reported that the fundraiser store via Sportsmen’s will be enabled in the first of Aug. A discussion was held about magnet status, the acrylic blankets and stocking hats. Action: Scott to provide Sam the details on products from previous orders. He will see if Sportsmen’s can incorporate the products into the store. 11. New Business: Brian requested a donation to the Guatemala mission trip to fund soccer balls. The board agreed to donate $250 to the cause. 12. Next Meeting – Sep 22, 2015
