Greetings from the St. Louis Lady Cyclones Board of Directors, The board would like to thank all of you for a great season! We sincerely hope everyone had a lot of fun this year, and we are now making plans for an even better 2016-2017 season! We'd like to take a few moments of your time to review our accomplishments this season, update you on Lady Cyclone’s off-season programs, and let everyone know about leadership changes.

2015-2016 Year in Review The 2015-2016 hockey season marked a turning point for the club and began our journey toward a USA Hockey Model Association. Off the ice, some of the highlights from this season include...         

Introduction of goalie training Introduction of skating training Introduction of off-ice training New logo, name and colors Addition of Learn to Skate program in conjunction with our LTP program Full membership in Missouri Hockey - we now are a peer to other clubs in MO Hockey and have a voice in the direction of youth hockey in St. Louis Established relationships with USA Hockey, the St. Louis Blues, Total Hockey and the Lindenwood Lady Lions Established a formal recruitment program with our First Stride program and participation in the Little Blues program A seat on the board of the St. Louis Blues 2020 initiative that steers youth hockey development in our community

And our on ice achievements...    

State Championship for the Peewee B team - first State Championship since 2007 and second in club history. Two out of state tournament championships for the Bantam team. League Championship for the Peewee Silver team - third in club history. Hosted the very successful, first ever, all girls ice hockey tournament in St. Louis.

All around, it was a great season for the club and we'll be looking to expand on these accomplishments in the 2016-2017 season.

Off Season Programs Spring Hockey - We have over 50 players participating this spring, and there is limited space remaining. Go to the web site and sign up today to guarantee your spot. First Stride and Spring Learn To Play - Our big recruiting event for next season has really taken off again - we are closing in on our numbers from last season and we still have two weeks remaining. In order to pull this off again - we are absolutely going to need your help. The volunteer list is here - http://vols.pt/KicNEe. Pay it forward by signing up to volunteer today. Remember, this is about more than the Lady Cyclones - it about growing girl’s ice hockey in St. Louis and giving your daughter an opportunity to play this great sport for as long as she wants. Summer Skills and Evaluations - The details are being finalized, but we are looking to do summer skills similar to last year - Monday evenings, 8 weeks, pay as you go. We are planning a pre-evaluation minicamp around the first weekend in August with evaluations the second or third weekend.

Leadership Changes Finally we would like to update everyone on recent changes to your Board of Directors. Continuing in current roles will be myself as President and Steve Leasck as Vice President of Finance and Treasurer. Jim Arand will move into the role of Vice President of Operations, and his past role of Vice President of Coach and Player relations will now be filled by David Newman. Dale Greenbury will take over the role of Vice President of Communications and Promotions. Steve, Jim, David, Dale and I will serve a three season term. The two remaining board vacancies – Vice President of Administration and Registrar, and Secretary – will be appointed by the board and will serve until the next election. The board would like to thank our parting members Mike Zahoran, Robin Bartz, and Todd Dill for their past service helping to make the Lady Cyclones successful on and off the ice. Todd Dill will continue to serve the club as the Coordinator of Ice Management and Scheduling, and will temporarily serve as Web Administrator and Coordinator of Social Media until volunteers can be trained for those roles. Look for us to reach out to our membership for help in filling several more coordinator positions as we take this club to the next level. Our parent volunteers are critical to our ability to develop and provide a great ice hockey experience for our girls. Enjoy your summer! And look for announcements about Summer Skills, Summer Learn to Play, conditioning camps, fall evaluations and uniform fittings. Chris Johnson President – St. Louis Lady Cyclones
