2015 ANNUAL MEETING & EXPO
Dear Colleague: Mark your calendar and save the date for the 2015 NASBP Annual Meeting & Expo to be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in beautiful San Diego, California, April 19th to the 22nd. The theme for my year as president and for the Annual Meeting is “Making a Difference.” The Program content will embrace this theme by stimulating both business and personal growth, creating a strategic, competitive advantage for our members. I especially encourage our emerging industry leaders to attend the meeting, as aspects of the programming will be specially tailored for them. The Annual Meeting kicks off on Sunday evening with a poolside welcome reception complete with views of the City and Harbor. The meeting concludes on Tuesday evening with a banquet sit-down dinner and a spectacular band. The Manchester Grand Hyatt is the perfect mix of the convenience of a downtown city location with the beauty of a resort location, situated on the sparkling San Diego Bay. The hotel is walking distance to the dinning and nightlife of the “Gaslamp District,” and has a beautiful outdoor pool, tennis courts, and a full service spa on site. The San Diego International Airport is just minutes away. I encourage you to take a moment today to register for this year's meeting and I look forward to seeing you in California. Best regards,
Thomas M. Padilla NASBP President

Making a difference in today's competitive marketplace requires that the successful surety bond producer develop and maintain a broad knowledge of the business strategies and claim practices employed by surety claim departments in order to properly advise and position their clients. This session will provide a general review of the regulatory and contractual requirements and challenges confronted by the surety claim professional who is receiving and investigating claims and thereafter seeks to determine and discharge its bond obligations during the course of a complex bond default. Key emphasis will be directed to the legal and business considerations that typically come into play during the claim process, along with the important role the producer has in the process. The program will also compare a variety of bond and contract forms/provisions, jurisdictional frameworks and common completion methodologies available to the claim professional.
