2015 FHS Boys’ Soccer Callout A Little About Coach Pels - 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher Seventh year at Stonybrook MS in Warren Twsp. - Coached at Cardinal Ritter HS, Zionsville HS, and Lawrence North HS Won State Championship with Zionsville - Graduated Purdue University in 2007, currently pursuing MA at U of Indianapolis Team Structure At Fishers we are very fortunate to have enough players try out to make three teams. - Varsity Team - Junior Varsity Team (Varsity Reserves) - C-Team (Composed of mostly Freshmen and some Sophomores) Things to remember about the C-Team - The C-Team is a developmental team. - The C-Team has a different schedule than the JV and Varsity teams. - The C-Team schedule is very likely to change during the season. Why? Because other schools realize they either do or do not have enough players to form a C-Team after our schedule has been made. Summer Training Camp - Summer Weight Lifting will be on Monday and Wednesday through June and July. Begins Monday June 1. Mondays – 10:00am-11:30am; Wednesdays – 10:00am-12:15pm Strength and Athletic Performance building (Morning of Champions) Wednesdays – 11:30-12:15 – will be in the classroom *seniors and past Varsity only until announced otherwise - Field Work will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays Begins Tuesday June 2. Tuesdays and Thursdays – 4pm-6pm. - What is Summer Training? Technical training, small sided games, conditioning and teambuilding. - Why go? Get to know the coaching staff and your potential teammates. Physically prepare for tryouts and the season. Commit to our purpose. Earn Your Stripes points - What do I need to bring? Tiger Card – must have before any participation Tiger Card is obtained after the player has completed a physical from a doctor, filled out the necessary paperwork and submitted to the athletic office. Water, cleats, running shoes, athletic/soccer clothes.

Other Summer dates to remember June 20 – Carwash June 23-25 – Fishers Youth Camp (after practices) June 27 – Fishers Freedom Festival 5K (Registration information coming soon) June 28-July 4 – Moratorium: No Training or contact from coaches July 6-9 – IPFW Camp (juniors and seniors for now) July 11-12 – Marian University Showcase Tournament (two teams) July 24-25 – Lawrence North Tournament (two teams) August 3-6 – Tryouts August 6 – Placement Meetings Placement Meetings are scheduled to meet with the players in groups discuss their tryout results.
In-Season - Training after school 3:30-5:15pm. - JV and Varsity lift weights – Days and Times TBD (mornings before school) C-Team does not lift weights in season. - Away Game Logistics Players meet at the locker room at the assigned time. Times differ based on distance from school and game time. Bus will pick them up from the school, take them to the game, pick them up from the game and take them back to the school where they will need to be picked up to go home. Players MUST ride home on the bus except in extreme cases – serious injury, family emergency, etc. Meal is provided for away games. Fees - $125 – Booster Club Fee Pays for Senior night, locker room decoration, Red vs. White Game, other miscellaneous items to enhance players’ soccer experience. - $180 – Athletic Department (Player Support) Fee Goes to Athletic department to pay for transportation fees. - $150 – Warmup and Soccer Bag New Players only Families have the opportunity to offset this cost through fundraisers. - $65 – Practice Kit Practice Shirt, Practice Shorts, Practice Socks, Game Socks (2) Order of Communication - 1. Ask your son. - 2. Check the website. - 3. Email appropriate contact. I am open to communication – in person or electronically – however, I do ask matters are handled respectfully and if an issue arises from a game, you wait until the following day to address this matter with me. 3 things to remember - 1.
