Our Local Story WPX has been active in the state since late 2010. Today we operate or have an interest in approximately 200 wells that produce oil from the Bakken and Three Forks geologic formations. Our operations are focused on 85,000 net acres on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. We have 70 employees in the state who work from offices in Killdeer, Minot, Mandaree and New Town. We entered the state via a $949 million acquisition of Dakota-3 E&P Company LLC. We also have invested $1 billion in local drilling and development over the past two years.
