Released just ahead of LGBT Pride Month in June, the Pride Guide is the premier source for information on this year’s official NYC Pride events. Gracing the cover of the 2015 edition is star of the Netflix original series “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and host of the NYC Pride Rally, Tituss Burgess. Traditionally an avenue to distribute information about NYC Pride’s annual events, the Pride Guide has evolved into a full-scale commemorative magazine under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of NYC Pride, Chris Frederick. “The Pride Guide is our opportunity to showcase the people, places, and experiences that make up LGBT New York City,” said Frederick. “For all the millions of people who will descend on Manhattan for Pride, this is the place to discover what makes our community so extraordinary.” The 2015 edition features a photo essay by Nicholas Contrera that takes a look at the ordinary and extraordinary lives of nine transgender New Yorkers. Also featured are an op-ed about what comes next in a post-marriage equality America by NYU School of Law Professor Kenji Yoshino, and an interview with former NFL player Wade Davis. When the print edition is released on Friday, readers can pick up their copy wherever Next magazine is distributed throughout the five boroughs, Cherry Grove, and Fire Island Pines.
