Introduction
#SprintFanVote
The Sprint Fan Vote launched in 2004 as a way to bring one more deserving driver into the NASCAR Sprint All-Star RaceTM to compete for the $1 million payout. In 2008, Kasey Kahne made history after winning the Sprint Fan Vote and the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. Sprint and NASCAR® have created this marketing guide to assist you in developing a Sprint Fan Vote campaign for an eligible driver. It’s a great way for both teams and sponsors to rally a driver’s fan base and demonstrate support. Again for 2015, just for participating in the vote, fans have the chance to win a trip for two to any 2015 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint CupTM race of their choice. NEW for 2015, the vote is limited to one vote per day with the opportunity for fans to double their votes for sharing on Facebook and/or Twitter. NASCAR fans have the opportunity to vote one driver into the NASCAR Sprint All-Star RaceTM, which will be televised live on Fox Sports 1 on May 16. The Sprint Fan Vote begins March 8 and closes at 7 PM ET May 15.
Why Campaign?
#SprintFanVote
The Sprint Fan Vote provides a marketing platform for eligible drivers and their sponsors. It enhances the visibility and publicity value for all participants during the weeks leading up to the NASCAR Sprint AllStar RaceTM. • Bobby Labonte won the 2012 Sprint Fan Vote although he finished third in total votes (due to automatic transfers via the Sprint Showdown by the first and second place vote recipients) • Over 3 million votes were received last year • Featured on NASCAR.com, the NASCAR MOBILE application, Sprint Inside Lane Newsletter, and Sprint.com/speed • Winner participates in Sprint Showdown Victory Lane broadcast and Sprint All-Star driver introductions • Miss Sprint Cup will retweet drivers (when applicable) that include @MissSprintCup in their campaign Tweets • Creates a fun off-track rivalry amongst drivers • Your driver could go on to win the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race via the Sprint Fan Vote like Kasey Kahne in 2008
