Chris Wells Head Volleyball Coach

Chris Wells began his coaching tenure at CSC in 2014. Among the conference victories was a four-set triumph over Western New Mexico, marking the first time CSC had ever defeated the Mustangs. Wells also helped Erika Roybal land on the RMAC All-Conference team and seven student-athletes earned RMAC All-Academic accolades.

Coach Wells has nearly 30 years of coaching and playing experience. He has coached at the Division I, Division II and NAIA levels, as well as elite high school and club programs in California, Oregon and Washington. As the head coach at Willamette University in Oregon, he was named the Northwest Conference Coach of the Year in 1992 when the Bearcats won a school-record 40 matches and went undefeated in league play. In three years, Wells amassed 98 wins while leading the Bearcats to back-to-back conference championships. As the Associate Head Coach at Division I Eastern Washington University, the Eagles won the Big Sky Conference and qualified for the NCAA Division I National Championship in 2001, beating PAC-12 Oregon State in the first round. Wells also served as Associate Head Coach at RMAC rival New Mexico Highland University in 2013, the team earned the most wins and best winning percentage in the last 10 years. As both a beach and indoor player, Chris Wells won numerous beach and tournament championships. He was the starting outside for the Tri-Valley men’s team that won the silver medal at the CanAm games in 1984. Wells is the father of Bryce, Haley and Bella Wells.

We come to you for a five session, two-day camp or seven session, three-day camp. Will structure volleyball camp to fit your program’s needs from all skills to positional to team or a combination of all. Collegiate level coaches will lead instruction. Schedule early as dates will fill quickly.

July 13-15, 2015 6th – 8th grade and 9th – 12th grade

If you are looking for a camp with lots of play and reps that will help your team reach their goals this is the camp for you. Our team camp is for both middle school and high school teams wanting to get a jump on the competition. The CSC team camp will have different competition and tier levels that will provide competitive matches for all teams. Offensive and defensive clinic chalk talks are available to all coaches of teams participating prior to all sessions at no additional cost. A positional team training day is available the day prior to the start of team camp for additional charge. This training provides advanced individual concepts that translate into increased team performance.

This camp has been developed for the beginning to intermediate level camper. The All Skills Camp allows participants to build and hone their volleyball skills while incorporating games to enhance their experience and passion for the sport of volleyball. Drills and games will be challenging, competitive and fun and will assist the camper in improving in all areas of volleyball play. Participants will be monitored throughout the camp so that they are put in the appropriate group level to ensure a positive experience. A 12 to 1 or better ratio of coach to players ensures that all campers are getting one on one attention.

Elite Skills Camp July 16-18, 2015 9th–12th grade If you are looking for a camp that will challenge both your physical and mental capabilities this camp may be what you are looking for. The focus of this camp is geared toward players who plan to play at an advanced tier. Technical training will be at a collegiate level and requires players who attend to train and play at a tempo consistent with the expectations of a collegiate program. Campers will receive instruction in various positional disciplines that will enhance their skill set and prepare them to compete at an upper echelon. Game like scenarios will be provided both in and out of system that with diligent training and focus will increase the repertoire of each attendee’s game. Training will be led by collegiate coaches as well as assisted by collegiate level players. Campers will receive a rating via email following the camp.
