Tuckahoe Park Modernization was approved as a Maintenance Capital Project in FY 2015. Design work commenced in January 2015 and the project is still working through closeout items. The project encompasses design and construction for full replacement of two athletic fields including regrading, topsoil, sod, and new irrigation, backstops, fencing, benches, bike racks, trash and recycling cans; site circulation; drainage; signs; landscaping; batting cages and electronic scoreboard. The total project budget is $1,252,478 as broken down as follows: $1,182,545 in County PAYG funds $50,000 in DPR Diamond Field Funds (for batting cages) $19,477.59 in Bishop O’Connell High School Funds (for the electronic scoreboard) While the project is not yet complete, if it projected to come in under budget.
