Captain Fun announces birthdays daily at morning meetings and gives the birthday camper a hat and fuzzy. Birthdays are celebrated in each child’s group with ELMWOOD CUPCAKES! Please do not send any additional treats.
Late Arrivals
What happens during rainy days at Elmwood? Campers are provided with a wide range of indoor activities. Occasionally, the Upper Village will visit the gyms at Solomon Schechter or other nearby recreational facilities.
What do I do if I need to adjust my child’s transportation?
Early Departures
You must notify the office of any transportation changes. You can do so by calling the office or submitting a written note. Please give your note directly to your child’s bus counselor or to the greeter at parent drop-off.
Please do not put written communication in your child’s backpack. Please do not email transportation notes.
What is the tipping policy at Elmwood?
Our staff appreciates each thank you that they receive! When families choose to send a monetary gift they consider the number of staff members that they wish to thank, as well as the length of their child’s stay in camp, to determine the amount to be given. The range of gifts has been between $40 and $75 for each staff member for an eight week camper.
Our police and fire authorities require that we keep all local streets clear of parked and standing cars. This includes Green Acres Lane, Palisades Avenue and Lander’s Manor Road.
