2016 WILDCAT FOOTBALL SUMMER CAMP A four-day-per-week summer camp, designed to increase athletic performance and decrease injury potential. The goal is to teach Arvada West football fundamentals, techniques and schemes so we play contact football effectively and safely. The team will begin with weight training and conditioning, then progress into full contact practices. Before the season begins, we will go up against some other high schools in the area.
MINI-CAMP Date: June 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 Grades: 9-12 Arvada West Football Staff Time: 7:30a.m.-10:00a.m. Location: A-West High School LOCATION This is a 7-day team camp, our regular p r a c t ic e s c h e d u l e . Arvada West High School Football Facilities Individual position-specific drills, 7-on-7 p a s s drill, inside r u n drill, Team Offense vs. Team Defense. After the 3rd day we will PARTICIPANTS be in full pads and will have full contact. The l a s t day we will have a full-contact, inter-squad scrimmage for the freshmen players. Camp is available to any football athlete entering grades 9-12 in the Fall of 2016 at Arvada West High School. UNC TEAM CAMP Date: June 12-14 Grades: 10-12 EQUIPMENT Time: See calendar for full details Campers will be provided a t-shirt and shorts for performance training Location: University of Northern Colorado and fieldwork. Football equipment will be checked out to athletes as they participate in the mini-camp and 7-on-7 activities. This is a 3-day full contact team camp for Junior Varsity and Varsity players. The p la y e r s and coaches will be staying in dorms at t he University of Northern Colorado. Transportation REGISTRATION & FEE INFO will be provided t o UNC and back to A-West. Date: May 31 SCHOOL OF MINES 7-ON-7 & BIG MAN CAMP Grades: 9-12 Date: June 18 Time: 7:00a.m. Grades: Select JV & Varsity Players $250.00 Payable to Cat's Claw Time: 3:00p.m. – 6:00p.m. (This fee is in addition to the $150.00 District Fee) Location: School of Mines University FEE BREAKDOWN: - $100.00 Performance Training, Field Work These are one day 7-on-7 competitions designed to give each team - $100.00 Mini-Camp, 7-on-7 & Big Man Camps, UNC Skills Camp 6 guaranteed games. HOG OLYMPICS Date: July 15 Grades: Select Big Guys (6 total) Time: T B D Location: Columbine High School This is an event for Colorado linemen to compete against other schools in bench press, tire toss, a deadman’s carry, tire flip, tug-of-war and pickup-truck push. ROCKY MT. AIR IT OUT 7-ON-7 TOURNAMENT Date: July 16 Grades: Select Varsity Players Time: T B D Location: Silver Creek High School This is an all-day tournament where we will compete against schools in a 7-on-7 competition. We w i l l get 5 games guaranteed and will provide food and drink for the athletes. Helmets will not be utilized during the 7-on-7 competition.
