2017-2018 ST. CHARLES STORM BASKETBALL TRAVEL TRYOUTS Welcome to STORM Travel Team Tryouts! Tryout dates are June 5 – June 16. Each grade will have two nights of tryouts. Although it is possible for your child to make a team if they are only able to attend one night, players are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend both nights. Dates, times and locations for each grade are posted on our website at www.stcstorm.com. •
TEAMS ARE PARENT COACHED, with coaches appointed by the directors of the boys and girls travel programs and approved by the STORM Board. Background checks are required for all coaches. Our boy’s program has at least two teams (A and B) at each grade level with schedules appropriate to each level. Our girl’s program has at least one team at each grade level with a potential of a second team, if enough players attend tryouts, with schedules appropriate for each level. Each team has ten players.

Fee is $525 plus the cost of the uniform. Fee includes a practice jersey, two weekly practices, leagues, home and away games, tournament play and training sessions with a STORM approved trainer. Also included are player development clinics throughout the season. The required uniform package is approximately $200. Uniform pricing information can be found on our website under the Travel Program. Uniform Try On is late June, date and details TBA.

You will be live charged $235 for a tryout fee at checkout of online registration. The remaining balance of $290 will be due by August 1st if your player makes a travel team. Players must accept position within 48 hours of team postings. Please see website for our refund policy.

Practices will begin in September with games starting in November and running through mid-March. Some teams may opt to have a few practices late summer if gym time is approved by D303.

Practices are generally twice per week at the elementary or middle schools, depending on gym availability, or at various locations in St. Charles. The 7 th and 8th teams play a reduced schedule during their middle school season with only one weekly practice.

Approximately 20 league games and 4 - 7 tournaments are played. While most of the travel is local, some tournaments are away and these are played at the team’s discretion.
Evaluators are selected by the Travel Director to assess players and select teams. Teams will be posted by tryout jersey number on our website. An email will be sent when results have been posted and coaches will contact each player who has made the team. If your child makes a team, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the final payment of the registration fee. Unless we are notified, we will automatically place your player in our Bitty or In-House program if they do not make a travel team. No additional registration or fees for registration will be due ($50 refund for Bitty players). Please see website for our refund policy.
